Asked by NBC News to clarify whether he was referring in the Hill interview to no chance Trump would sit for an interview or would not answer more written questions, Giuliani responded that he did not "anticipate" any additional written answers by the president.
But speaking with The Daily Beast on Wednesday, Giuliani said negotiations with Mueller's team over an in-person interview are "still open." The Daily Beast published its story Thursday afternoon.

Rudy Giuliani, who frequently proves himself an unreliable source and offers contradictory information, both admits his team continues to discuss the possibility Special Counsel Robert Mueller will interview President Trump and says the president's done cooperating.
Regarding talks over Mueller’s access to President Trump, Giuliani said [Wednesday] that negotiations are “still open.”
Asked by The Daily Beast if it is his understanding that Mueller is still looking to interview Trump over the phone or in person, Giuliani reiterated that “it hasn’t been formally closed yet, and that the loop hasn’t been closed.”
Giuliani then spoke to The Hill a day later and said the following:
“Do you expect that he’s going to have to answer more questions in writing?” Hill.TV’s Buck Sexton asked Giuliani on Thursday.
“I think I announced about 10 days ago 'over my dead body' and I’m not dead yet,” Giuliani said, referencing his comments on “Fox News Sunday” earlier this month.
“[President Trump's] not answering any more questions from these people — they are outrageous activity … we did enough,” he added.
